GeoNudge Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 5, 2025

This Privacy Policy explains how Weechu LLC (“we,” “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use GeoNudge (the “App”) and our related websites, services, and communications (together, the “Services”).

Plain language summary: GeoNudge uses your device’s location to trigger reminders you set. Your reminder locations, radii, and titles stay on your device; we don’t receive them.

1) Who we are & how to contact us

Controller: Weechu LLC (operator of GeoNudge)

Contact email: support@weechu.com

2) What information we collect

We collect the following categories of information when you use the Services:

A. Information you provide

  • Account/Contact details (optional): If you contact support, we may collect your name, email, and message content.
  • Reminder details (on-device only): Geofence reminders—including coordinates, radius, titles, and settings—are stored locally on your device. We do not collect or receive this content on our servers.

B. Information collected automatically

  • Device & app information: Device model, OS version, app version, and basic diagnostics/crash data.
  • Push notification token: Apple Push Notification device token used to deliver notifications.
  • Server logs & operational metadata: When you use the Services, our infrastructure records IP address, timestamps, user agent, request metadata, and minimal operational data (e.g., rate-limiting counters) for security, reliability, and abuse prevention.

C. Location information

To provide geofence reminders, GeoNudge processes precise location from your device. Location processing may occur in the background to trigger reminders even when the App is closed.
The locations you choose for reminders are processed and stored on-device by iOS; we do not receive this data.
We do not upload your live location or geofence locations/titles to our servers. You can disable location permissions at any time in iOS Settings, but geofence reminders will stop working.

D. Cookies and similar technologies (website)

Our website may use cookies or similar technologies for essential functions, analytics, and (if enabled) advertising.

3) How we use information

We use your information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the App and Services.
  • Deliver geofence reminders, push notifications.
  • Prevent abuse, secure the Services, and comply with applicable laws and carrier rules.
  • Respond to your inquiries and provide support.
  • (If enabled) show ads and measure their performance. See Advertising below.

4) Push notifications

If you enable push notifications, we use the Apple Push Notification service (APNs). We receive a device token from Apple to deliver notifications. We do not use the token for any other purpose.

5) Advertising (if applicable)

If you enable ads in the App (e.g., Google AdMob), the ad provider may collect device identifiers, coarse location, IP address, and usage data to show ads and measure performance. Some providers may use that data for cross‑context behavioral advertising (“sharing” under California law).

  • You can manage ad personalization in your device settings (e.g., Reset Advertising Identifier, Limit Ad Tracking) and within the App (if offered).
  • For California residents, see Your California privacy rights and the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” options below.

If your edition of the App does not show ads, this section does not apply.

6) Analytics & diagnostics

We may use analytics and crash reporting (e.g., Apple, Firebase Crashlytics) to understand performance and improve stability. These services receive technical data like device model, OS version, and crash traces. We do not use analytics to identify you personally.

7) How we share information

We share information only with:

  • Service providers / processors who perform services on our behalf (e.g., cloud hosting on Amazon Web Services, analytics/crash reporting, customer support). They are contractually bound to use data only as instructed.
  • Apple (for in‑app purchases). We do not receive your full payment card details; Apple is the merchant of record.
  • Law enforcement or regulators when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the Services.
  • Business transfers (e.g., merger, acquisition) subject to this Policy.

We do not sell your personal information.

8) Data retention

  • Reminder data (geofences): Stored on-device only and not retained by us. Deleting a reminder or uninstalling the App removes this data from your device.
  • Server logs (IP, user agent, request metadata) & operational data: Retained 30–90 days for security, reliability, and diagnostics.
  • Push tokens: Retained until you disable notifications or after a period of inactivity to prevent failed sends.
  • We may keep aggregated or de-identified data that does not identify you.

9) Your choices & rights

  • Location: You can disable location permissions in iOS Settings → Privacy → Location Services. The App may not function as intended without it.
  • Push notifications: Control in iOS Settings or within the App.
  • Access/Deletion: You may request access to or deletion of your personal information by emailing us at support@weechu.com. We may ask for information to verify your request.

10) California (CCPA/CPRA) disclosures

Notice at collection – categories: We collect identifiers (e.g., phone number, device token), geolocation (precise and/or coarse), Internet activity (app interactions), and inferences (limited, e.g., reminder usage patterns). We collect these for the purposes described above.

Sell/Share: We do not sell personal information. If ads are enabled, some providers may use data for cross‑context behavioral advertising (“share” under CPRA). You may opt out of such “sharing” via device settings or any in‑app controls we provide.

Your rights: California residents have the right to know, access, correct, delete, and opt‑out of sale/share of personal information, and to limit use of sensitive personal information. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. To exercise rights, contact support@weechu.com.

Sensitive personal information: We use precise location only to provide geofence reminders you request and do not use it to infer characteristics about you.

11) Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including encryption in transit, encryption at rest for server‑side data (e.g., AWS), least‑privilege access, and monitoring. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

12) Children’s privacy

GeoNudge is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child provided us personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

13) Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated Policy with a new “Last updated” date and, where required, provide additional notice.
